Imagery - Aerial Photograph Collection

Notes on the usage of the aerial photographs in the 1991 and 1979 collections:

Each image is actually one half of a whole photograph (e.g. 1991_xxxxl (for the left half) or 1991_xxxxr (for the right half)).

Each image is georeferenced to UTM18N, NAD 1927, ( possibly based to the USGS topographic maps), although when the image is projected into a program, there will be an error indicating that there is no projection file associated with the image.  The projection files are currently being updated so the error no longer occurs.

No photograph is differentially rectified, so there is distortion in the photograph based on shadows and angles of flight and relative position of the camera.  Distance, angles and areas should not be measured directly from the photograph.  

The center of each photograph is the best focused, with the focus becoming less sharp towards the edges.  Center of each photograph is indicated by a small, sharp white + sign.

The photographs have been enlarged so that the scale on each is about 1:8000.
